Just wanted to pass along a little tale with my Beretta A-400 Xtreme.
Bought it new a year ago. Put a season on it and a 1000 rounds through it.
Was cleaning it about two months ago when I observed a hole and a crack just behind the breech bolt pin/cam pin. Anyway long story short, I sent in photos of the issue to Beretta. They said one of their gunsmiths had to look at it (party line). They sent me a free UPS ground label. Took two weeks for the gun to get to Maryland for repairs, but not really their issue.
Today I received the gun back from them. They said there was nothing wrong with it and the hole blown in the bolt was normal wear and tear. The crack went unnoticed by the gunsmith.
The bummer was two months for the "repair", I sent photos of the "normal wear and tear" before sending in the gun; they requested the gun anyway and all they did was waste everyone's time. And the Beretta storage box was crushed in shipping.
I think most of this could have been avoided, but all communication with Beretta is done via the internet and by logging on to their Beretta Support website. Out of sight out of mind. Before buying a used A-400 inspect the bolt.
