Where's the plane? Flight 370

Why is it taking so long to find this plane.
A dozen planes and 40 ships and they can't find a Boeing 777 with
about 240 aboard.Crazy.

Should have a transponder track to plot and an Emergency Locator Beacon to follow. Finding small/private planes can be hard - finding a major airliner should not be that difficult.

The Air France crash in 2009 took almost 5 days to find. The ocean is pretty big. And those transponders and emergency beacons don't do much good 2,000 down on the bottom of sea bed.
