I'm new to call making and this forum but have really enjoyed them both so far. My question is so far I've made several calls that I like how they sound but can't seem to get the volume and top end that I am looking for. I was wondering if any of the more experienced call makers on this forum would mind giving me some advice. Thanks in advance.

Volume is going to be the result of how much air you are putting into the call.

Lots of trial and error . Hundreds of toneboards thrown into the garbage . Flatter is louder longer is louder . Give some take some . Everything about a toneboard is give and take . Glad to hear someone is experimenting with their own toneboards instead of copying someone else's or putting someone else's stopper in a barrel they turned one day and becoming a CEO of a call company on Facebook the next day . Good for you .
