I shoot old SxS shotguns for my upland hunting. I got an english fowler now for my duck hunting. It's a 1923 Watson Brothers 12ga with 32" barrels and original 3" chambers. I was wondering who else likes SxS guns for water fowling .

That's a really nice piece you have there , I'm wondering ( by the picture ) if you are only a fair weather hunter as this gun is way to nice to
be out in the temps , these days , I'm seeing in Idaho?

Surely you're shooting some kind of Non-Tox , may I ask what that would be ?

    I just picked up a SxS for Christmas, a 16ga J.P. Sauer choked M/M.

Although it's mainly for upland, because it tips the scale at 6#, like most German weapons it has sling swivels and I'm going to pattern it with Kent Bismuth and try to "blood it" this season.

BTW nice piece in your photo.

I'd like to take my Elsie or Baker double guns, can't really shot much through them but Bismuth which I'm assuming is what the OP shoots in his.

I shoot doubles, but the barrels on my doubles are oriented north/south rather than east/west.
I know a few waterfowlers who sometimes take out their SXS's. I think they're rather quaint.

My first 'multi-shot' gun was a Wards Revelation 20ga SxS, mod and full, double triggers. Still have it. I dented the barrels one day, as it slid down on to some concrete. I just 'sawzalled' 1/2" off. Probably IC/IMod now. I take it out once in a while. Since I shoot O/U exclusively at the range, it just makes sense to use on in the field.

I have more SXS's than I need and a couple of those North/South double shooters also.
