If I kill the elusive 20 pounder, can I have 5 dozen decoys? :sp

The only problem with the 12 lb pheasant is that it can't have a beard!! and if you shoot a 20 lb goose you will be "the" man. Paul

"Re: Dropping a 1lb to 15 next year."

Thank GOD says my wife. That durn honker I have been rearing in my backyard eats like a hog and the feed bills are outrageous. Last year he scaled 14lbs and must have cost me $2,000 in feed and vet bills. By the way, you don't ever want to take a live and thoroughly annoyed goose to the local Safeway and plop it up on the vegetable scale. Honking and hissing, you'd have thought Hillary had just announced. Then there is the poop - my god, do you know how much a 15lb goose poops? Believe me you do not want to know.

The neighbors will no doubt be pleased as there has been a noticeable decrease in the numbers of cats and small dogs around the neighborhood. And he is one mean goose. I suspect Harry as he has learned how to "meow" convincingly and he has this gleam in his eye when I let him watch the animal channel on tv. The only way I can approach him anymore is with a small chair in one hand and whip in the other. Kind of like my wife, if you really want to know.

Anyway, long about the afternoon of our opening day this October I expect to be mailing Harry to you. That is if I can get a second mortgage on the house to give to my livestock feed supply business. Sorry this note took so long to type but with only 7 fingers (Don't ask!!) it takes some time.

    Regards,
    Tom B.

I weighed 2 bigguns this year and a bunch smaller. 12.5 seems to be the going weight for bigguns in this neck of the woods. Hopefully the contest will drop down to 12 lbs.:D
