20 pound geese?

    Apparently I didn't see the pics but if you did, give them proof, I guess scales are different in WA!

    I shot a goose in ND this past fall that weighed 15.87lbs. I had it weighed on the butcher shop scale in the grocery store when I go back home. I have some pics, but I can't figure how to downsize them to post!!!:confused: It dwarfs the other geese in the pics!!:tu

    Giants can be distinquished from other Canada goose species by the length of their mandible (lower ie. bottom portion of their beak), and the length from their knee (if you will) to their foot. These anatomical features will be longer on the Giant than any of the other canada subspecies. Color variations, white patches around the eyes, neck, etc, are what they are...genetic variations which are most easily identified within their family group and/or nesting flock.

    Good post Yukon, most of these so called giants are really just big Western Great Basin Honkers. By the way what are the measurements of the bill and leg for an average Maximus? Paul
