How is the 2014 Ford F-150 doing with the eco boost engine? I know a few changes will be made on the 2105-lighter-better MPG-smaller engine? Just checking. Thanks Fireduck

Its the same as the 2011-2013 ecoboosts. The motor line up for 2015 still is mainly the 3.5 ecoboost and 5.0V8's with the addition of a smaller ecoboost(I think it is a 2.7L). I'm not sure if they kept the 3.5V6 or the new little ecoboost replaced it.

From my understanding they will eliminate the 3.7 in 15 they will use non turbo 3.5 for base engine. Should be close to the 3.7 for power to weight ratio as the truck will be lighter made of aluminum. I'm only second fleet truck with the 3.7 and it has been a good engine.

Driven 2 trucks with ecoboost, 2012 n 13' models. Both got horrible mileage towing and empty loads all highway. Not impressed.

From articles that I have read, was that Ford would get several more mpgs with lighter bodies and smaller engines? I like the look of the newer Ford trucks, but I'm not exactly sold on them yet. Will wait and see!? Fireduck

Love mine........I bought the 4x4 platinum.......Very disappointed with the gas mileage in the beginning...13 town 17 highway............was told after break in it would get better.....I now have 4500 miles on it and around town I'm getting right at 16 and on the highway I'm getting 19 mpg......pulling my boat on highway I'm getting about 14.5.....the dealership has told me it might even do a little better after putting some more miles on it........with that said, if you really put your foot down , which is a lot of fun with the turbo's, she will drink the gas up

I just wonder how much it will cost to replace the turbo?

I have the 5.0 Coyote and average 18.8 mpg you don't buy a truck for the gas mileage!

I know it's not a ford but got a new 2014 dodge 1500 with the 5.7 4x4. Has the Eco thing in it where it drops to 4c. So far I average 22mpg hwy and 16.5 around town pulling my grass cutting trailer.

I know the new Ford truck will be out soon. Just wondering what the price sticker will be on the new aluminum body? I've heard the MPG will be very good? Hope to hear some reports soon. Fireduck
