Got to watch the water freeze up this afternoon. That wind was brutal
No one out yesterday but for a couple of high schoolers in a red canoe up river from me. As for plenty of birds, they probably hit my area today with this record low cold snap. I guess I was a day early -again.
Took a couple of buffies and a blue bill I shot overhead that nearly smacked my buddy in the boat on it's way down. Few mallards here as of yesterday. Migrators were moving down early that I could see. Had to leave by 8:30.
Yesterday morning was a really fun field hunt for mallards and geese. This morning the cranes flew but not the ducks and geese. Eleven degrees and they said screw it.
Killed this guy a week ago.
My son shot this two days later out of the same stand. His second bow deer not bad for a 12 year old.
Yesterday quick hunt small public pond close to work. It was prior to work. Only hunted 30 minutes. Went out this morning but no luck.
Did you guys notice how @SB2MAG is trying to hide that boot lip under the geese? What's a matter buddy? Was it not good spoon tang and you didn't want your buddies to see you with it?
Nice mixed bag yesterday. Can, ringbill, 3 whistler, 6 bills and a Buffy. Tripped and fell, went over my waders, making for a cold limit but worth every shiver!
Fine!!! I thought I had that spoony obvious enough that even someone with left eye dominance can see it.
Here you go.
It’s not every day someone can get a triple with two geese and a spoonbill.
Plus it tasted so good, I had the kids eat it.
Great hunt today. Minus the green head I lost. I saw no geese which was weird there was a ton when I scouted yesterday.
My response when the girlfriend asked if I really needed to hit the river today after I just got back from my trip.
Found a pile of greenheads. Just not sure how to attack them quite yet.
Mind if I hit dat while your hitting the river? Just trying to keep you both satisfied.
