Thought about hitting the river this week, but I don't think that will be happening...
It's too damn cold to have any fun outside...-12 with -30 windchill. It is supposed to warm up into the 30's at the end of the week. Will feel like a heat wave.
Checked out Missouri River yesterday morning. One mass of ice and slush rolling down the river. Just made me uneasy looking at it. The deadliest catch captains would tremble in fear if they saw it. Giving our ice hole one more go tomorrow with the Tuesday heatwave.
Super cold when the birds don't show up like today....
Hasn't been a duck or goose around for 2 days.
Me and my partner finished today with 8 in our little pump ditch hole in NW Missouri.. 7 Gaddies, 1 Mallard. Did not see much over past few days except for a few birds using our place and a gravel pit to our North.
Blue sky’s smiles at me , blue sky’s do I see
My bad “ smilen “
I am seeing migrating mallards all afternoon. Not a massive amount but steady flocks ever since noon.
