2017 Migration Reports

    Well, I ran through the Mo Valley today from Council Bluffs to Hamburg. Only saw about 1/4 the numbers that were staged in that same area Saturday/Sunday. I noticed a lot of birds pushing North last night at dusk. Quite a few birds pushing West across the border of Iowa/MO today. My guess, is West or South.

    I saw a small flock (500) of snow geese this Evening. First Snows I Have Seen In Two Weeks.

    Where'd you get that? I clicked on their bird counts a bunch and only saw Dec 27, 2017 as the most recent report.

    Well the spring migration is well underway. Went to the farm yesterday which is now totally flooded and it is covered up with literally thousands of ducks. Wish this would of been in December.

    Ditto but, food is not nearly as scarce in the fall as it is this time of year. It's pretty much a diet of invertebrates and that's why they don't stick to one place long.

    Yeah there hitting the smartweed hard. Going to do some videoing sat morning out of my deer tower stand. Water is about 4 feet deep. Hope there still there.
