USFWS Waterfowl Status report is finally out https://www.fws.gov/birds/surveys-and-data/reports-and-publications/population-status.php Read it and weep or rejoice depending on where you hunt,,, but basically sounds like an average year pretty much across the artic. Interesting in that they now have a Pacific Flyway count instead of a Western Artic / Wrangrel Island count. At any rate,,, somehow,,, they found 1,906,800 snows in the 2016 count which is 59% greater than the 2014 estimate of 1,199,600. That's a huge jump in two years...Kinda makes you wonder about the accuracy and validity of the methodology employed in the determining the numbers each year????
