I am thinking about upgrading my 2004 Chevy Silverado 2wd with over 250,000 miles to 2018 LTZ Z71 fully loaded for variety of reasons. Getting a really good deal. It is 5.3 liter V8, not pulling anything super heavy and have test driven one and like it. So opinion, any issues you have had if you own a 2018 or even 2017 as basically same truck, I am interested. Been Chevy all my life and at 55 not really looking to change.

I have a 2018 LTZ Z71 one ton crew cab 6'.5" box. I had the identical truck that was a '15.

Absolutely love both of them. Most comfortable seat I've ever sat in.

I tried like hell to like them but after driving the Rams and F150 there really wasn’t any comparison. Hence why I’ve yet to own a Silverado. The Chevy dealership said to make sure you change the oilscreen out in the engine every few oil changes because the cylinder deactivation causes sludge to build up in that screen and has caused engine failures.

I've had all 3 brands over the years and on my first Chevy right now. Wouldn't buy another one. Fixed the oil screen thing about 6 months ago.

    That 5.3 is gutless!

They really aren't bad, you just gotta rev them. All the LS engines make their power in the mid to upper rpm range. Actually works well and gives good mpg, but they are gutless in the lower rpms. I personally prefer the way the old Vortec 5.7's "feel" even though they actually make less overall power; the torque curve is just better imo.
