Yes, it most certainly is. Any time the govt takes money from someone and gives it to someone else as an incentive to do something or not do something, it is a subsidy.

A subsidy is a form of financial aid or support extended to an economic sector (or institution, business, or individual) generally with the aim of promoting economic and social policy.[1]

Well, I suppose you’re right in the literal sense of the word. I tend to think of a subsidy as a bailout, so to speak, or artificially suppressing the price of something. CRP isn’t really either of those, it’s the American people, via their elected officials, conserving private lands. It’s hard to put a dollar value on wildlife.

At any rate, regardless of political persuasions, it is unquestionably a big part of the fall flight and while I understand the need for a balanced budget, if you’re posting on this site you should be advocating for CRP. Take a few bucks from some other useless programs, fine by me.

Eventually as the population grows the habitat will be washed away. I’m all for doing what we can right now. Our budget will never be balanced with these two bozo parties involved. Therefore, I’m all for supporting measures to protect the habitat and the animals I love to hunt.

“According to the Census Bureau’s projections of the resident population, over the 2014 to 2060 period, 98.1 million people will be added to the U.S. resident population. This is a result of adding the 34 million difference between 196.6 million births and 162.6 million deaths to the 64.1 million projected number of additional immigrants.”

Continues: "The number of people projected to be added as a result of net international migration is nearly twice as much as the natural increase."

Can immigration policies be changed to increase or decrease the number of people coming in to the USA? Yes.

So a projected 34 million increase over 46 years is 782k a year. W/ the USA having a land area of over 3,500,000 square miles you are worried about overpopulation taking up precious hunting land? :doh
