This fear thing has been used by the church for years. Give us cash now it is right around the corner and you do not want to left out.

The reason for this is many thought Jesus would had have come back within 100 years of his (supposed) resurrections.

Just one more way to get you to buy into it.

Is this form the Newsweek survey?

If you can see it for what it really is back off the Kool-Aid.

Hey I think it got it out of newsweek it was in some magizine article. Pretty scary stuff to be thinking this, espeically when nothing happens, and we're screwed ourselves over with 50 years of really bad government.

    Topduckl,

What is your real concern? I don't know what the percentage of the population considers themselves Christians in the USA today, but let's assume it is 60 %. And I think most Christians (not 100% sure) believe in the second coming. So then 2/3 + of them happen to believe it will happen in the next 50 years. What is surprising about that????? How does that impact you to the bad?

Christians have been looking forward to the second coming of Christ ever since the first coming. The best advice I ever got was in church.

Plan like it will not happen in your lifetime. Live like it will happen tommorrow!

Around 80% of Americans claim to be Christians (a steady decline since the 19th century), and every generation has believed that the 2nd coming would be in their lifetime.

So if this belief wasn't detrimental in our first 200 years, it won't be in the next 200... or 50.

Oh, and The Bible says nobody knows... not even the angels in heaven. And The Reverend Cleophus James said, "The day of the Lord cometh as a thief in the night!"
