And of course the lake. Quiet, she's sleeping.

It sure is pristine looking up at the "Lodge".

A long time ago I helped a good friend's family build two (one small/one big) real log cabins up at Haypress Meadow (elevation 8,054') on the Sonora Pass (17 miles of dirt road). They own about 25 acres surrounded by National forest/Emigrant wilderness. They had two horses up there that summer. We went horseback riding at night, full moon, and swam them (no saddle) 100 yards across the lake. That was quite an experience. I haven't been up to Haypress in many years, I think I'll go up in August and do some maintenance on the cabins.

I was up at Eagle Meadow about a week ago. You can cross the big creek without seeing water. 20 feet of snow, had to go in the second story to the cabin.
