I'm hunting with a bad shoulder and gettin close to a hog hunt. I usually use my 8mm Mauser w/170gr loads. Or 06 w/180gr. I have known a lot of guys that use a 243/6mm for hogs.
Just waned some opinions, I'd load 100gr Hrdy or Nos Par in my 6mm. It's a mod 600 rem with a 4x redfield.
Our avg hog weighed 125# the one boar I shot was a tad over 300#.
My other option is my Mod 100 win 308 w/150gr.
    What you fellows think?:z

The 6mm will do fine for hogs with good placement of the bullet. Lots of big hogs have been shot with .24 cal. cartridges.
Both bullets you mentioned do good work on hogs but don't dismiss the 85gr. partition. I use that bullet on deer and hogs and have not any problems when I have put the bullet in the vitals.
