I just always stay at my parents' house--10 minutes from the airport, free dinner and beer, and a room to sleep in. Oh, and an airport shuttle service. :)

Everything you need right here......airport shuttle, walking distance to good food and a store, very hunter/fisherman friendly. Use of freezers for meat or birds to be taken home for taxidermy. Great folks!!!!

Thanks guys. Stayed at Lakeshore Inn last time I was in Alaska but couldn't remember the name of the place. Will probably stay there again.

Almost booked Pen Air from Anchorage to Kodiak, but went w/ Era b/c of my brothers (guide) & Mikes (outfitters) advice. Flying up in 2 weeks for a Kodiak brown bear / Blacktail hunt, CAN'T WAIT!

Yep. 25,000 points is getting us from Boston to Cold Bay and back. Have to drive 10 hours from PEI to Boston but for a $100 ticket ($75 annual credit card fee and $25 to book over the phone) to Cold Bay it's well worth the drive!

I stayed at lakeshore twice now, no problems and I ate at outback, across from walmart.
