I just bought the A Frame Blind at scheels in Springfield and not sure what all prep needs done before it's field ready. With all of my layouts I've mudded them in to eliminate shine. The instructions didn't mention mudding, I'm sure it would be a good idea but with temp at 16 degrees, it would be difficult. Any advice or experience would be appreciated as this blind will be a new way for me to hunt. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Since mudding it would be tough right now just make sure you brush the heck out of it

Have not done this personally, but seen guys take a flat tan or brown and LIGHTLY coat a new layout blind when they couldn't mud it due to temps. Or like Jon C suggested, just brush the heck out of it.

Update us with some pictures if you have time. Before and after.

    Good luck!!!

Fred Zink has a video out where he, as dnj21 mentions, uses flat tan spray paint to take off the shine of the blind. Although you are brushing it just like a layout blind I would do it if you are able. Always a spot or two you don't get covered that could shine in the sun.

Blind worked well. Got 5 of our 8 Canadians put of it. Lots of room and very comfortable. Only took 10 minutes to brush in with 4 of us. Couldn't have been happier. We plan to buy another soon.
