Has anyone added zippers to the roof openings in a BT? Pros / Cons if you have? Im going to pull mine off shortly to do some boat work and thought this might be a good time to do this.

Can be done. Make sure you install a size 10 Vislon zipper. They hold up to UV better and the zipper tape is wider and stronger. I use them on zip out Marine vinyl windows.

Let me know if this works for you. The velcro on mine is worn and not sticking together as it should. I thought about doing the same thing. Either that or snaps.

Im thinking a zipper option to help with rain, but i do like the snap idea though.

snaps are a solid idea. I actually use the 2" gator clips from harbor freight to hold mine. like that I can keep the hole closed and just pull down and have it release smoothly to pop up and shoot.

Never really entertained that thought. That would be the ticket if it holds good. Would be like the magnets on the drake jackets. May could just hot glue a set on to see if they would work before going throught the trouble of sewing on. I wouldn't think the PVC would melt from the heat of the glue.

    I ordered some. I
    Will update everyone.
May staple some on to test before sewing them.

I tested one hole, my old Velcro seems stronger than the magnets. Need a super duty magnet. I ordered the 3/4” ones and they don’t seem
Strong enough. Ohh well it was worth a shot...

Were the magnets you ordered rare earth magnets? I know they hold a WHOLE lot stronger than regular magnets. If what you have aren't rare earth, I may try and find some that are and give them a try. Getting everything out of the shed this weekend and start going through it so it'd be a good time to try it.
