I'm sure glad to see that there is a few guys that like to talk fishing along with duck hunting!!!! I've gotta apologize for the double posts that are happening... it's something funky happening with my posts. And no I'm not a moron when it comes to posting topics... I'm not hitting the submit button more than once.he,he,he. I'm going to talk to David about that.

Good to see that we have few guys submitting some topics and thread. Keep them coming because the winter are long and cold in Wisconsin, Dakota's, Minnesota, and Illinois....I know there's a few other states, but you got my drift....no pun intended.he,he,he. I also just got back from a wedding so if my typing is way off from being coherent than I'll blame it on the alcohol.he,he,he. I'll be sure to fix it up tomorrow. Oh well, You know what most of "us" Wisconsin folk do during the winter....and that's drinking and screwing.he,he,he. Sorry for you to putting up with this, but I thought I needed to explain my actions. Take care and catch a pig!!!

    catch ya later,
    Krappie

Krappie- Hey, I read most of the posts in here, just haven't been out much on the ice this year. Went out today and only got 1 bass. Hopefully I'll do better this week!

Hey Nebhunter, that's quite an accomplishment itself in hooking bass through the ice in the winter. Those buggers are catchable in early ice, but almost non-existent during the winter. I hope you get into a mess of fish, and I've always had my best luck pimple'ing for them with a minnow head. Usually chrome and orange swedish pimple about 1/8 oz. is the ticket. You'll probably get into some northerns and crappies also. Let us know how you do.

    catch ya later,
    Krappie

Gonna go Monday and try a new "Resie" a few miles West of us. Some of the guys I know catch some nice Crappie (for Illinois that's anything over 10") so there might be some pretty good pickin's there. I'll let you know how we do.
The weather has moderated (somewhat) last last few days with highs in the upper teens and low 20's (probably sounds like a heat wave to y'all) so it's not been too bad here in Cent. Ill.
Hell, Krappie, I was down in the basement yesterday and "found" a bottle of "Jack" I had tucked away ( hate this old age, forgeting important stashes like that) so that just MIGHT go along on the Ice with me.
Never can tell when ya might get yerslf bit by wunna them ice snakes, y'know! HAR!

Hey Greybeard, I think you're on to something with the Jack. That doesn't sound like a bad way to go. I'll have to try it because my beer keeps freezing up.he,he,he. I hear ya about those ice snakes. I had gotten bitten by one a couple years back and had to drink a 12 pack in order to subdue the pain.he,he,he.

I still check in, but we still have 3 weeks of duck hunting left. Hard to think about fishing during hunting season. The ice on my ponds is 8-10 inches thick right now, so I may get in some Okie ice fishing this year. These southerners will be trying to rescue me, cuz they won't know what I'm doing out there. hahaha.
