Wondering about this in a very mobile spread of 100 socks. should I go one way or should I use a percentage mix?

IMO, feeder heads are pointless. Maybe 10% alert heads.

So you would go with headless socks and some alerts but not all alert?

Not sure what very mobile means, but windsocks with 3D heads take up 3 times the space of a headless decoy. Then there is a lot of additional weight in you are carrying them in.

If you go with some upright heads, you only need 1:10. 2D heads like on sillosocks do really don't do much. So I would opt for 3D feeder heads or go headless.

Why would you want 100 socks with all alert heads. Just order 10 dozen headless and call it good.

Thanks, I am planning on carrying these into walk in tidal marsh areas so weight will be a big factor. I am thinking of buying some White Rock headed dekes and it sounds like the feeders might be the ones I want, unless I go headless.

Opinions on headless vs headed please.

Anybody have experience with 3D feeder head socks from White Rock Decoys? Am also interested in their Deck Boss flyer decoy.

    Thanks for the help

I have all 3 styles of whiterocks: Headless, active headed and feeder headed. All 3 work and work well but like others have said, the heads do take up more room and space. The material the head is made out of is pretty darn lightweight but any weight savings when walking in is important in my view. If you are walking the decoys in, I'd learn towards headless.

If I were carrying 100 socks into a tidal marsh, I am not packing the weight of heads.
