that is crap
I think this is outrageous.
Wonder if it is appealable...
I don't think so, it was a plea bargain.
Judge is obviously either an anti, or totally freaking out of touch.
Everything except the donation to PETA seems reasonable as far as punishment.
Agree.....but I guess next time a member of PETA does something to a hunter/fisherman, we need to make them donate to Ducks Unlimited or Delta Waterfowl, Maybe even the NRA....
just a thought......only seems fair....
The Judge knew exactly what he was doing and it is brilliant. The poacher needed a stern enforcement of the law to deter others and the added penalty to pay PETA probably hurt that poacher more than the rest of the punishment. He should have demanded the guy become A vegetarian for a year as well. No mercy for poachers none.
Ok, but making them donate to an anti-hunting group is good how? Any money going to PETA is bad.
Were talking punishment for the crime so the issue is how does the judge make it hurt enough to the poacher .A Big fine to a wealthy person may not be a deterent at all.
How do you think the poacher feels knowing he has supported an anti hunter group? If your answer is not so good then thats the your answer to your question.
Making them donate to an anti-hunting group is good how?
We both agree that PETA is bad for hunters.
We both agree it is sickening a thought to support them financially.
Ill wager the poacher probably feels the same way or worse and there is the punishment for the crime. Ironic isnt it.
So, you're trying to equate this with say, having a wife beater donate money to a women's shelter?
No, he chould have had to donate to something that actually has something to do with remediating his act: DU, Delta, hunters for the hungry, whatever. PETA is an anti-everything radical group of turds that have NO redeeming qualities whatsoever. The judge is a dumba$$.
Nah, Safari Club International would be more appropriate IMHO.
