I use Bravecto, a 1 time dose is good for 3 months. Ticks are terrible here in MN this year as well and he hasn't had any. Vets told me the dogs who use it and come in, the only time they might find one on a dog is very rare and the ones they find are already dead. The ticks are just caught in the hair a bit.

Serestro collar on my 2 labs. with the other treatments we picked 4 or 5 ticks a day off them. With the Serestro collar I don't see a tick for 8 months at a time. Not cheap, but worth it

A lot of the treatments that have been around for a while are not effective anymore. We switched to Bravecto and so far, it's been working.

Seresto here as well and no ticks for the 3 mos they've been on. First time using it. At $60 for 8 mos of protection, they are cheaper than topical treatments. I quit using topicals because none of the 4-5 I tried that I tried were totally effective. I'm sure the seresto collar will become ineffective in time as well.

Does Seresto work for fleas too? We don't have ticks real bad but fleas are an issue at times

    Another for Seresto.
I've gotten to where I'm inspecting the heck out of this dog 3 or 4 times a week and just not finding any ticks.
And we are loaded with them this year.
