I have a 9 month pup now 75 pounds. He will be ready to hunt in October. I own a 16ft Lowe but also use a wildernesses 120 kayak for refuge no motor waters. I think I'll have room for him and still able to bring a very small spread. Do any of you use a kayak with your dog. Pictures would help also.
    Thank you..

I looked up the 120 Kayak and noted at the end of the "description" - water types - Flat, Slow-Moving, Calm Coastal.

I have often hunted out of my 12' Migrator, but normally it is towed or "piggy backed" to the area I want to hunt.
It is stable, but even with my 52 pound Lab getting her in and out was not an "easy do". I mounted a dog hide and
a ladder to the transom. She did not need to be in the boat and did not want her that close. "Dragging in" water is not
a easy thing to deal with. I always hunted close to the shoreline.

note: I rarely used the trolling motor. The extended oar brackets worked well.

Thanks Jim, actually I looked it up also and that's not it. It's the wilderness commander 120 it's a hybrid kayak/ canoe. I've used it for probably 5 years but never with dog.

I have an Old Town Discovery 15 ft square stern canoe. Wider that normal, with oar locks, that I have considered rigging up something like this for small water. I've seen spud pole attachments to make it even more stable when parked.

    Keep the pictures coming!

Carstens makes some great skiffs, my main boat is the canvasback, 2 guys and a dog very comfortable. 95% of the time with a 6hp mud motor, however the first 4 years I spent my time paddling it all over. (oars) I also have the pintail good for a Dog, a guy, and some gear.
