I need a little help. My son built an AR last year. I bought him an 80% for Christmas and he did all the research and built his own gun. His birthday is right around the corner and he wants a new scope for his gun. I am not a rifle guy so I'm not sure where to start. He said he wants a red dot. but didn't suggest a brand or model #. I'm looking to spend $200-$300.

    Any suggestions? Help?

My nephew has a Vortex and really likes it and customer service from Vortex. He lost scope covers, they sent another pair for free.

Buy once cry once. The optic will outlast the rifle. I have several if you want to shoot thru one.

I've used the Aimpoint and the Vortex. They'll both perform well though the Aimpoint is a little bit tougher. It really comes down to the style of scope and it's use.
