For deer sized game and fixed blade/cut on contact broadheads, what weight arrow are you all using?
About 440 grains. That's at 70# and 31".
My hunting arrows are 28" long and are @ 380gr. I shoot 60lbs now, dropped down from 65lb. Picked up some lighter arrows sat but haven't shot hem yet. They are 360gr at 27.25. Think minimum standard is 6gr per lb of pull for hunting arrow. Read that somewhere.
415 grains total weight here.
I was thinking the minimum recommended weight was 10 gr per lb of pull weight... ... but that's more for the recurves and long bows, etc, which I shot until last year.
I think this 'google' answer clears it up a little...
I'm going to have to weigh my arrows as I don't remember what they weigh, and since I've changed to a compound bow I guess I really need to think it over again.
Thanks for the reminder.
I follow the 6 grains per pound minimum.
I am shooting 62# at 27 in and my total arrow weight is around 380 grains.
