Avoiding broken teeth

    While I try to only shoot em in the head....on occasion there is some body impact. As I just had a broken tooth repaired yesterday (from #2 shot in snow goose jerky), I scanned a new batch with a metal detector and found this hidden gem... 20180209_095825.jpg

    I got one of those scanner too, works great.

    Just out of curiosity....what kind of metal detector and how much does it cost?

    I use a Garrett pro pointer. Around $130, but besides shot, i use it to find other stuff too 20170731_151519.jpg

    I think mine is a garrett pro pointer AT... real nice.

    Good thread. After 30 years of eating steel shot duck, I broke a tooth this year. It hurt and need a crown because.

    Amazon has a bunch of pinpoint metal detectors as cheap as $30.00

    I have always been very careful to look for the shot when cleaning birds, but just asked my wife for a Garrett Pro Pointer AT for Father's Day a little early.
