Woody, snow, gad, mallard. I’d really like a sprig or a diver

I'd like to get a spec band, but still waiting. Mine are all normal species, a few with good stories. Good ones to remember are the coulda, shouda's. I can think of 3 different birds I whiffed on that were banded when my dog brought them back. Gave away a collared Aluetian I shot to the son of the ranch manager who was hunting with us that morning. Still waiting for my good karma to be paid back on that gesture:l Gave my buddy that was with me a banded snow goose I shot last. He had never got a band and I knew he would like it. Cool story on that one it was banded in Russia 13 years earlier. Many years ago while hunting unit 9A up at Tule from a boat, in lush green tules teaming with mallards that now look like the moon, (sorry about the sidetrack), my buddy found a rotting mallard that was banded. His young boy cut off the leg, cutting his finger in the process. Well, his son got a wicked infection from the rotten duck and got very sick a few days later, so for my buddy that one has a bit of memory to it.

I bagged one in college that had “Daddy’s Girl” banded on her lower back. That was a personal best for me.

Only banded bird I have is a sage hen. Let a kid kill a single honker that came in one time, it was banded.

Surprised I haven't even seen a banded spoon as we pile trash ducks up pretty good.
My son killed a banded dove a few years back, it was a fledgling prolly on its maiden voyage.
Good friend killed a 10yo banded sprig last year.
Killed quite a few bands, but only one at the club, the remainder were all on the refuge.

It’s all luck!! Right place, right time, right species.

Would like to shoot a speck band, Canvasback band and a wigeon band.

Buddy of mine shot a banded redhead a week or so ago. Stainless steel band. Pretty cool.
