Anyone here ever shoot any banded birds in Idaho? I have shot my share of ducks in Idaho over the last 30 years, but never a banded bird. Most all my hunting has been in the north part of the state. Wondering if they are really that rare or its just me.

I have shot about 4 banded ducks and 4 banded geese in Idaho in the last 20 years.

I would like to know what it is like in most states.

The first goose I ever shot had a band on it, but it wasn't a federal or state band. It was a yellow plastic band with ink numbers that were mostly worn off. I'm guessing it was an escapee from a farm or something.

    No bands since.

8 duck bands 2 goose bands all but one came from Idaho. I hunted Utah about 25 years and only shot one band. I've done a little better in the last 10 years in Idaho.

I have got one goose band in Idaho in 16 years of hunting. My hunting partner has got 3 duck bands and probably killed fewer than 1/2 the birds I have. He is always lucky though.
