I picked up a bass raider 10e (plastic two man pontoon style fishing boat) with trailer for dirt cheap over the summer, my plan is to fish out of it in the summer time and hunt a river or small ponds during the season. Plan is it’s big enough to get me and the dog and gear there. Then I’ll set him up next to me and use as a marsh style layout boat. Thoughts and ideas appreciated.

    Fowl Raider,

That looks like a sweet setup, and an affordable one to boot. Way to think out of the box!

I’ve got a couple of small details to finish and then I think it’ll be ready. I’ll post more pictures when it’s done done.

Layouts are traditionally grey and are a streamlined bump on the water. Some guys say a brushed layout doesn’t work on open water , others say it does. Good luck one way or the other.

this is gunna be for the marsh, not open water. marsh style layout, like a traditional field layout blind, but it floats...

Finished grassing up the back of the boat. Still will need to add some natural vegetation to it but I think it should do the trick. 10 days and counting till opening day.
