Hey guys...I am getting a marsh boat with the 6.5 BT. What type of battery would you run? I would also run a spotlight off of it...

If you have a pull start for back up, I would run a small lawn tractor battery or a motorcycle battery something in the 250+ cca rating.

I use a 16B on a 36 Pro-drive with no issues, which is the same size as the one in my shovelhead.

Same here. I would run a small lawn tractor battery. I would loose the idea of running the spot light off the battery and get a couple hand held re-chargeable spot lights. Dw

If the mudmotor is electric start, it will keep the battery charged. No reason not to run a spotlight off it. The lawn tractor battery should do just fine....after all, the mudmotor is just a lawnmower engine on a boat. The John Deere small lawn tractors/riding mowers I have use a small battery and I run the headlights on them when I mow.
    Never had a problem.
