This is an old family recipe. It sounds really plain, and simple, but I assure you that the proportions of sugars, and acids is perfect for ribs, or chicken. Sauces that call for liquid smoke, or dehydrated garlic, onions, etc. cover the rub that you put on the meat during the marinating/cooking process. This sauce gets its character from being carmelized over the heat after the meat has been smoked or grilled, and is completely done.

    2 cups catsup
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup cider vinegar
    3 T worcestershire sauce
    3 T dry mustard

Mix ingredients together, and let stand in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

The only thing that I add to this sauce every once in awhile is a 1/2 cup of apricot pineapple jam.

Here is my recipe. Cant get much easier!!!!!!!!!

1 bottle of store brand bbq sauce. I use H.E.B. brand
1 cap of liquid crab boil
    1/2 cup of white vinegar

Pour sauce in a pan, add the crab boil and the vinegar. Heat through and mix well. Ready to serve.

You can make it sweeter with brown sugar if you want too.
