My 2nd since I moved here, both in the back yard.

I don't have a burning desire to kill bears, but when they are trashing the neighborhood, dumping trashcans, tearing down feeders, and trying to dig up my bunny burrows, they get the treatment.
BTW, pretty tasty. Eating tenderloin and onions now!!!

Nice bear! I'm sure the bunnies feel safer today.

I've talked to more than 1 game warden here that has told me that 8 out of 10 bears they check have trichinosis, so cook the meat well done. Never did care for bear meat anyway. Nice color on the bear.

Yea, I just assume it has it. I don't keep large cuts. Everything is cut up for slow cooking. The rest is burger. As mentioned, I had the inside loin last night. I thought it was pretty good. Less gamey than mule deer. On par, actually, with elk. Of course, that is comparing inside loin bear to any-cut elk, so probably not fair.

Sounds like and epic hunt story that can be retold around the camp fire for years.;)

Yup. I was binge-watching Matlock on Netflix when I heard a noise. Walked over to the door, picked up the 7mm-08, clicked the safety off and blammo. :l

Very pretty color on that one. Make a nice rug or dog bed.

At least I was dressed for this one. The first one, I was just wearing my cookie monster jammy pants, and nothing else. Dropped him, then had to get dressed.

    I really wish I could un-read that!

It does leave one feeling a bit tarnished, doesn't it?
