I've heard of this phenomenon with benelli semi autos and even seen a buddy with a bloody finger from his vinci... .. but I guess my finger is the wrong shape (that's not what she said:dv)
......12 years with a benelli I never once even got a blister.

During the 3 1/2" phase of my foolish youth I filed the sharp right corner off my HK import SBE to stop the bleeding, but eventually grew up and quit shooting 3 1/2s.

I have an ancient SBE I that has never been a problem. Sometimes when I fly in on trips to California and shoot my buddy's Savage 12 Ga O/U loaner it thumps my finger bad.
