So, I heard back from Benelli a few times... and a lot of people have asked me questions.. and called and pm'd me etc, so here is what they said so all of you know what the reply was. Benelli said they consider this pattern 60/40. They said you draw a line through the center of the target...they said they could lower the POI with a high viz type of sight by 1.5 to 2 inches. They said they could install this type of sight if I wish... I am just telling you what they told me. Now you know too.

Thought you weren't supposed to even see the sight when wing shooting...

Flyfisher, I assume that with the shims you are looking down a flat rib, correct? Upon closer inspection that may pass as a 60/40 pattern if POA was the center of the target, but not where POA is marked on the target, looks to be more like 80/20-90/10. If you like a flatter shooting gun, that's going to be a bit difficult to "get used to".

A trap shooter may appreciate that pattern, but it could drive a wingshooter mad.

Send it back and tell them to send you a SBE2 and a couple cases of shells. Problem solved.

Best duck hunter I have ever hunted with, a real living legend, would take any new gun and chop off any beads, first thing...

Saw him take a big knife and knock off the bead on his brand new Benelli Sport...

The front site fell out of my Beretta couple years ago. I instantly shot better and left it out.
