you should of said it was the worst third split ever, Scotty would of said it was the best!
Killed a few dux so far but I need you guys to get out on the flats and shoot them up for me. Very slow go this Am on my position just south of the flats.
No- it really was slow. I'm not exaggerating about the amount of shooting. It was pretty shocking
Tommorow morning nw wind should keep the tide out
Very few ducks on the tidal Potomac. We left at 830 without firing a shot. Hauled tail to Point Lookout and shot sea ducks and jigged up 4 rockfish. (2 biggest - 28")
I think the NW wind did more than keep the tide out this AM. Saw lots of dux out there. Don't believe any people were going to brave those white caps. Tmw and Saturday should certainly be good.
tommorow its supposed to be alittle less windy. I had second thoughts once i got to the barge in front of the v.a
First hunt of the third split. Saw plenty of birds during deer season! Very slow am hunt. Marsh froze up, no water due to the winds the last couple days. Ducks must have been sitting tight with the big rafts of geese on the main river. Both me and my oldest took water over our wader while breaking ice....I did get to work with the new pup on retrieving in ice, dealing with frozen conditions so that worked out. Hope tomorrows south winds bring us some water! Good luck to others.
Ill be out tommorow afternoon hoping for fog once the rain starts and it warms up
SKUNKED IN VA OPENER.
