I really enjoy them!
I don't often measure but i was very pleased with my first double bearded bird just last year.
For me the best is the one we fooled most recently.
I got an Easterner here in Indiana last year that was 24 lbs, 11" beard, and 7/8" spurs. My first turkey! After checking the bird in I was outdone by another guy in our group that shot a 26 lbs bird with about the same length beard and only one 1 1/2" spur.
Turkey hunting is just becoming more popular again here in Indiana. About 10,000 birds taken by about 40,000 hunters. I love seeing the pictures!! I'll try to scan in some of mine.
19# double bearded, 1 and 1/8, 1 and 1/4 spurs
Dont know what they weighed but this was 4 yrs. ago the last time I went Turkey hunting . They both were bow kills & had 9 & 10.5 beards respectively. Here's the pic . I'm on the right with my two ,the other bird was shot with a shotgun.
