Had a bit of snow over the weekend and we could not keep the snow off the decoys (Dakota floaters) both goose and ducks. We tried the windshield deicer (blue stuff) and it did not work that great is there anything better? the decoys are at least flocked heads and some of the geese are 100%.
    Thanks

If your hunting over floaters why not just dunk them?

For you guys that use the propane torch, does it harm the decoy at all, particularly the flocking? I'm still leary of trying this as I don't want to cause the paint to crack or the flocking to melt.

Did you use washfluid or the de-icer stuff. Up here it is made by rainx and works better than the blue stuff. that being said it is better than nothing but not by much..

I dont know about flocking, but it wont hurt the rest of the decoy. You just flash over it, nothing ever gets hot enough to do any damage. A pump sprayer works well but if its cold enough to frost, its usually cold enough to freeze the water. You trade one problem for another.
