Talking with the guys at work today, this is exactly why I think there will be some kind of gun reform passed after this. Fence sitters and even pro 2A people will react emotionally to something that could have happened to any of us or our loved ones.

Doesn't make the upcoming (IMO) legislative action right, but the pressure will be immense for them to do "something". Even if it's wrong.

Those self inflicted wounds are so ironic.

If they’ve forgotten the fallout from the last time, they might should all make retirement plans. History tells us that’s the surest way to get benched by voters if you’re a republican....and very unsafe for dem poltical seats as well.

Maybe the greatest thing we can hope for is that the republicans will try this and all get replaced in the primaries.

That would be very good. A bunch of trump constitutionalist replacing the rinos.

But once a law is written it's written and Trump may have to sign it in order to get his other programs past. The democrats know they have him by the short hairs and the RINOs whose clock he cleaned looking now at 2020 are going to try and get him so tired of the stalemated legislation he'll quit.

Well...that's my opinion and it itches.

True...in more ways than one: once passed/signed, their fate is also likely sealed politically. They can recover from NOT passing something. They can’t run or hide from passing it, ever.

I think Pelosi and Gore lamented about Bill Clinton's gun control measures and threats as the cause that cost them the election to Bush the Younger.

Sure....gun control is merely a rallying cry for the left. If they actually get it/pass it, they lose a platform for motivating their base. They don’t really want to ‘fix’ anything. What would they rally to if they fixed their hot buttons?

Dems had control of the Senate back in 2013 after Sandy Hook and couldn't even get a watered down version of their "gun control" bill passed.
