For enough money I'm sure you could find anything you want if you tried hard enough. Belt fed heavy machine gun probably would not be a problem for the right price.

No doubt. If he was a Muslim it would be so much easier.

Outside of speculation this does open up a new vector for future shootings. How many outdoor venues/stadiums have tall buildings to shoot from? New Year's Eve in Times Square, firework celebrations. Imagine if several terrorists were shooting. New ideas on how to increase the rate of fire. Get ready for the copycat.

Great question. According to the FBI
1,490 people were murdered w/ knives in 2013.
428 people were murdered w/ clubs and hammers in 2013.
687 people were murdered w/ hands and/or fists in 2013.
    123 people were murdered w/ semi-automatic weapons in 2013.

If ISIS is going to take out a large outdoor venue like that first thing everybody is worried about is a Dirty Bomb, one of those with a large crowd easily 100,000 people could be taken out. With all the Uranium sources all over the world anymore it's more than a possibility.

After re-reading thread content... I know the subject matter involves strong feelings (there's that word again), yet what we have is another thread degenerating into a pizzing contest. If we can't as individuals focus upon subject matter rather than personalities, this thread will disappear. Count on it.

API I am going to point out that your solution fixes nothing and it amounts to dumping a cup of water into a lake. Just let it run its course, wispete and his type don't stay around long as they get beat down with truth and logic.

That said lots of heroic actions by people at this tragic event. Rumor mill regarding weapons is over the top, LV police address said various handguns and long guns as well as material to make explosives. Warped and sick person whom regardless of any law passed would likely have found a way to do destruction.

We don't need knee jerk reactions now or in the future. As many know I managed and worked in equipment rental business for a lot of years. After OK bombing they talked of banning rental moving trucks and certain components used by farmers.

Based on that criteria, shouldn't the original post be grounds for deletion?
