I put up a post awhile back about coming down to see family for a week. My goal was to scratch out a mottled duck and maybe a nice drake of something. All I can say is Jack is a heck of a guy and the only one to offer any help or direction. Made a few moves and changed some tactics but we got it done after a delicious lunch. He even went for a swim, nothing like hunting in shorts and a t shirt.

    Way to go Jack!

I almost met you fowlweatherfowler. I was prepared to tow you guys back in after I dropped my hunting party off.

Yes.... the mosquitos have been fierce with no cold weather to knock them out. Gators have been a nuisance as well with this hot weather. The sound of gunfire is like a dinner bell to them unfortunately.

Yeah we hear gators nailing the coots behind us. I did make it out on the lake again with a guy from Port Charlotte yesterday. End up getting my hen and a ringneck. He gifted me his drake and got a ringneck.

Been working since the day after you left. I am very happy you got your bird(S). I wish their were more to pull the trigger at but this year has been rough wth the heat.

Glad you had a blast and equally glad you ended up getting that hen!

I can say that Jack is THE nicest fellow duck hunter I know. This guy is a TRUE asset to us all.

    NEXT YEAR, my friend....guarenteed!

I'll be there next week thru the 31st. Hope I can scratch those and some whistlers off my list. Heard it's been rough.
