I hunt the Aspen Parklands in NW MN. Small aspen groves amongst tall grass prairie and lower swampy areas. They are home to a very diverse popuplation of animals. The Nature Conservancy bought up about 40,l000 acres of it and have been restoring it by filling in ditches and lots of burning to keep the aspen, willows and invasives in check. Growing up there were about 100 times more sharptails than today. This year was the best I have seen in a long time..... but nothing like it used to be. In the first pic I flushed them in some heavy willows. Doubled on them and one sailed into the aspen.
