One of the guys that run the lake I hunt was busting a serious gut and making fun of guys that used to hunt there and now don't because they are on a leash. He said he would buy there stuff cheap since they don't use it. Dang they were cracking up . Ears must have been ringing or heads exploding. We all must know ex-hunters like that. Those are the ones who tell story after story

:tuPapacharlie thanks for the offer. Hope all the real hunters are starting to have a good year but even if your not at least you are able to get out and hunt and have a good time and a bunch of laughs.

Not sure if all of you know but publicly maned places like Braidwood may be closed starting Nov. 15 due to the state not having a budget and the workers may go on strike due to a bad contract. Just something that came up over the weekend .

Went out to Braidwood this morning just to see if they were going to open but the high winds had them closed. We also checked the kill sheet they had a good shoot on Wens. with 50 ducks killed around 22 on thurs and about 15 yesterday . No real big duck movement around we hope some ducks get hear soon time is running out.

Didn't take long for someone to post up..a few different ways to look at a post like this
1..You don't hunt Braidwood and you get a kick out of seeing every Tom, Dick, and Harry show up for the draw.
2...Birds aren't there yet and again you get a kick of feeding false info to people.
3..You hunt Braidwood and want to make it harder on yourself to draw a blind:scratch

Well yesterday they bagged 153 ducks that was what I heard this morning from one of the guys at the place we were hunting. Today we saw more birds and managed to bang out 11 ducks by 9:30 . Also saw a few bunches of sandhills. But with the new ducks still no geese all day. Running short on days , days like today really make it worth it. Doubles on the dog work makes it look easy others can watch the show things fell into place. Its was funny when we were waiting for an Other we had Mallards swimming in the decoys and got a video on the cell phone while eating a sandwich decided to pick up and head in good times and great fun.
