Just finished burning our marsh in currituck,NC. Best thing you can do for a coastal marsh. We try to do it every year. Got to thinking if it would help to hold birds if we burned some prior to season or during it. Seems like it would open up alot of areas that would provide some good open water when the water is in the marsh. Has anyone done it during or just prior to the season and what were the results? The way a marsh burns there would still be plenty of stuff standing for them to use as cover. Any thoughts?
