Just got back from the mother land... to say the least it is truely AMAZING! We hunted around 3 roosts that each one held atleast 250,000 snows and specks, the lakes were literally covered in geese. First day out was Saturday evening 16 ducks hit the water, no hunting on sunday so we scouted friggin birds EVERYWHERE!!
Monday we hunted for darks and killed 29 darks (12 honkers and 17 specks) and 1 snow, and 4 ducks over the spread. The largest honker was close to 15 lbs, all of them were huge!! Tuesday we hunted the edge of a slough that was holding about 80,000 or so ,shot 20 snows, 1 speck and a pintail. Wedsday the weather was perfect but the birds hung in 500-20,000 birds flocks, no way we were gonna land much in that situation with 300 rags, scretched 6 snows. One of which was while the pickup was in the field..juvy snows are soooo stupid it's almost unfair but fun as hell!! Thursday we set up and shot 7 specks and 15 snows, was cool to see a flock of specks right infront of the blinds doing barrel rolls. Friday was a learning experience new which field birds were going into but not exactly the X..well needless to say they new where it was about 500 yards away not a chance of pulling um.Saturday shot 2 geese and several ducks before we left for home. SHot ducks almost every evening, one night we went upland hunting and shot 18 huns and a sharptail grouse, that was cool!!!
All in all it was AWESOME! Good guys, great laffs, losta beer consumed and alot of memories were made I get a chance to post some pictures soon I will put them on this post. there was alot of pictures taken so you'll see a bunch.
The people up there are super nice, never got turned down to hunt once. The women up there are nothing to shake a stick at , we met quite a few in our "after dark" adventures, some of which we no less then a knock out!!:h Will definitly be back next year!!
