Catapon Boat and Motor Issues

    Hey guys, curious if anybody knows anything more about these types of boats or anything similar to them. It's a 14 foot boat, almost like a catamaran hull. Motor is considered a short shaft, it measures around 17 inches. I built a compression plate for my outboard, but still seem to have blowout issues. The issue seems to happen right after the boat starts getting on plane. When on plane the compression plate is just barely above the surface, so I think the prop is getting enough water. The motor is mounted in the hole all the way forward, when I tilt it up any bit at all, it makes it blowout sooner.

    You are running the prop too high; looks to me like it's ventilating (pulling air in).
    Couple of suggestions: Drop the motor about an inch...or, run a 1" smaller diameter 3-blade prop.
    See what that does....
