you guys need new bait. I think your minnow fell off
careful there toby...i don't think that was the kool aid flavor of the day
I can verify that ... it's my new boat and motor. The top speed with 1 person (190 lbs.) was 26.7 mph.
I just got home with it last night ... the motor only has 45 minutes on it right now ... that will definitely be remedied this weekend! The only modification to the motor, so far, is the addition of a wire-tie to the governor spring. I'm gonna wait until it's broken in before I do anything else.
Those are good repectable numbers with that rig and motor, glad you like it...
You'll get some more as well once it's tweaked.
Take care and have a great season
Yeah ... that's one solid boat! I'm glad I went ahead and sprung for the winch on this one!
I took the boat/motor out today for the first time in Florida ....
Here's the specs again...
18x54 Excel MudBuddy edition, 1/2 box, battery and gas tank under the front deck, 36hp ProDrive, FPR, and power trim.
Today, I had my daughter (105 lbs, soaking wet) in the boat with me (190 lbs).
Top speed - 27.7 mph ... managed to catch a little bit of a ripple on the water. Motor is turning ~4300 rpms out of the water (no load) & 3950 under power. I've got 3 hours on the motor now ... 2 more to go & I'm ready for its' first oil change.
I tried to find the worst crap that I could to run through ... solid pads, cattails, hyacinth, hydrilla, etc. I even managed to find a 200 yrd. stretch of floating mud tussock. The PD ran through it all !!! Mostly without losing any speed. I also ran up a log infested creek ... no problem.
I was impressed!
Those numbers are good to hear. I plan on having my new PD motor by the end of the month to hang on my 1754 Excel. I hope I can report similar numbers
respectable and believable numbers Kevin.
