Dang...lwingwatcher.....I think we are the only state not in the fun at night with a centerfire club! MI definately needs to change the rules on that one! Although..I'm sure the coyotes won't like it much if they changed the rules! :dv :dv

Until not all that long ago, we were able to use centerfire at night. Some of the lame excuses/reasons I have heard on another site only demonstrate the ignorance of the subject even among the ranks of hunters.

And, while I really don't have a dog in the fight cuz I don't call....I know for a fact that critters still get shot after dark with fresh snow, a bright moon, and no spotlight and nothing but yotes have died in the process..... Just a shame that in Michigan it makes violators out of people for still doing it.

With centerfires and spotlights. The light can not be hooked to the powersource of the vehicle.

We used to do it in KY but I think the law changed a few years ago...

It used to be legal to observe (not shoot) deer at night with a spotlight... That changed about six years ago or so... We used to drive the backroads all the time watching deer.

Shine--yes (during certain times of year) but, not with a gun or bow in the vehicle.

Nuttin like hunting yotes after dark. Yote hunters aren't gonna be running the roads with a spotlight and a rifle hanging out the window with a call mounted on the roof.
