Ask anyone today about revival and you may get some strange answers. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians stated he preached Christ crucified. To do so one must understand what a revival is. For example. An ambulance gets called to a bar for a man having a heart attack. They come to the scene with everyone deathly quiet as they begin to check him out. Before long by the use of technology they revive his heart. This is a sort of revival. The man may still die. Without Christ in his heart nothing was gained. Biblical revival is the taking on of new life. Jesus Christ rose from the dead. When he did that all who are born again died with him. Our life now is in the resurrected Lord. A revival is a renewal from death. We do not change an old body and call it new. A caterpillar forms a caccoon. When it comes out it is a new creation. The old has gone the new is here. This is new life. As Christians we can call it this. BC/AD time. Before Christ/After Death in him. When a man is made new he has a new heart, new life and a new body. This is eternal life. He has conquered death because he is in Christ.
