    For Free on Amazon/Kindle you can download

    "The Story of a Common Soldier of Army Life in the Civil War, 1861-1865" by Leander Stillwell.

    Pretty dry, very little swashbuckling, but very factual. I found it particularly interesting because he was from an area close to where I grew up, and he served in the same regiment as one of my great great grandfathers (but they were in different companies).
